Matt Moore played quarterback at Williams S. Hart high school, Newhall, California. After high school he attended UCLA from 2002-2003, and in 2004 he sat out of football. In 2005, he enrolled at Oregon State University where he became the starting quarterback. After the 2006 season he was named All-PAC-10 honorable mention and Sun Bowl MVP after leading Oregon State to a victory over Missouri. During his two seasons at Oregon State he passed for 5,733 yards with 29 passing touchdowns and 26 interceptions. In 2007, he was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent, but was released the same year and signed with the Carolina Panthers where he played until 2010. In 2011, he signed with the Miami Dolphins.
