Portland Winterhawks ,
The Portland Winterhawks are a non-professional Junior Hockey team based in Portland, Oregon as a member of the Western Hockey League. The team mascot is a white bird named Tom-A-Hawk, and the team's jerseys are similar to those worn by the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League. The Chicago Blackhawks were founded in 1926 with many players from the old Portland Rosebuds professional hockey team. The Winterhawks originated in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and moved to Portland for the 1976-77 season.
