Dixon , Dennis
Dennis Lee Dixon Jr. played high school football at San Leandro High School in San Leandro, California before accepting a scholarship to play quarterback at the Univrsity of Oregon. Dixon was also drafted to play baseball by the Cincinnati Reds (2003), and the Atlanta Braves (2007.) Dixon is regarded as one of the greatest all-around players to ever play the quarterback position for the Ducks in a career that began in 2004 and concluded in 2007.
The 2007 season was his best and he was a strong Heisman candidate before his season ending injury against Arizona. Before the injury Dixon had led the Ducks to the number two national ranking by the Bowl Championship Series (BCS.) Despite the injury, and missing the final three games of 2007 Dixon was 5th in overall Heisman balloting, a unanimous selection as PAC-10 Offensive Player of the Year, and First Team PAC-10 Quarterback. Additionally he won the NCAA's "Today's Top VIII Award," and was a finalist for:

Draddy Trophy, Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award.

He finished his Oregon career with 5,219 passing yards for 38 touchdowns to go along with 1,208 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. Dixon was the 5th round (21st pick) of the Pittsburg Steelers in the 2008 NFL Draft.
