Crouser , Brian In 1980, Brian Crouser became the first boy to win the state javelin throw, shot put and discus championship while a student at Gresham high school. In 1981 he won the shot put state title again. After high school he overcame injuries and had a standout career at the University of Oregon (1982-86) and at the international level. Among his collegiate and international achievements are the following:
1982 & 1985 NCAA javelin champion and All-American
1984 & 1985 PAC-10 champion 1985 Set school record with the (old) javelin throwing 312 feet. 1986 World Record throw of 262 feet 1982-86-88-92 Top three Americans 1988 & 1992 Olympian
Crouser was inducted into the University of Oregon Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001.
