Moore , Kenny
Kenny Moore was a middle distance and marathon runner at the University of Oregon. Moore's rise to national notice came in 1967 when he won the national AAU Cross Country title. In 1968, he placed second in the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials with a time of 2:31:47, and in 1972 tied for first in the Olympic Trials with Frank Shorter in a time of 12:15:58. Shorter won the 1972 Olympic Marathon, and Moore placed fourth. In 1970, Moore recorded his personal best in the Marathon with a time of 2:11:36 when he placed second in the World Championship Marathon. Other achievements include winning the 1971 National AAU Marathon Championship, and winning the San Francisco Bay to Breakers 15K road race from 1968-73.
