Boyd , Freddie
From 1970 to 1972, Freddie Boyd was a three-year basketball letterman at Oregon State University, and was voted team MVP in 1971 and 1972. In his final season he was an All-American and All-Pac-8 selection. Other honors and achievements include:

Two-time Far West Classic MVP.
Scored 1,221 career points and set a school record for assists.

After college he was the fifth pick in the first round by the Philadelphia 76-ers in the 1972 NBA draft. From 1973 to 1978, Boyd played six seasons in the NBA averaging 3.0 assists per game and 8.5 points per game for the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Orleans Jazz. In 1992, he was inducted into the Oregon State University Sports Hall of Fame.
