Janisse , Bobby
Bobby Janisse was one of the state of Oregon's greatest amateur wrestlers during his short life.
He roared onto the national wrestling scene in 1979 when he won the 50 lbs. division of the Grand National Wrestling Championships. During his high school career at Portland's Jefferson High School he was a three-time state wrestling champion:
1988 106 lbs. division
1989 119 lbs. division
1990 130 lbs. division

Also while still in High School he was a one-time USA Junior Freestyle Champion and two-time USA Junior Greco-Roman Champion. His amateur career record included 123 wins and just 2 losses. Janisse began his college wrestling career at Arizona State University, but died tragically before he could make his mark as a collegian.
