Norman , Ross
Ross Norman was born May 2, 1896 in Portland, Oregon and in 1920 won three Olympic Gold Medals in the 400 meter and 1500 meter freestyle and as a member of the U.S. 4 x 200 meter relay. His other major achievements as a swimmer include:

1917 A.A.U. Outdoor National Champion in the 440 yd freestyle.
1917 A.A.U. Indoor National Champion in the 220 yd freestyle.
1918 A.A.U. Indoor National Champion in the 220 yd freestyle.
1920 A.A.U. Outdoor National Champion in the 440 yd freestyle and the 1 mile.
1921 A.A.U. Indoor National Champion in the 220 yd freestyle.

Norman was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1967 and the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 1980.
