Zimmerman , Gary
Gary Zimmerman was an outstanding offensive guard at the University of Oregon where he lettered from 1980 to 1983. Collegiate honors included the Morris Trophy, PAC-10 Offensive Lineman of the year, first team All-American, and Hula Bowl All-Star in 1983. After college he was a 1984 supplemental draft selection of New York Giants, and was selected in the 2nd round of the United States Football League draft by the Los Angeles Expess where he launched his professional football career by playing two seasons with Express. While with the Express he played with Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve Young. His National Football League career began in 1986 with the Minnesota Vikings and he finished his outstanding twelve-year professional football career with the Denver Broncos (1993-1997). In 1998, he played offensive line for the Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos. Zimmerman was elected to the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. In 2008, Zimmerman was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame where he joined other former Ducks Dave Wilcox, Mel Renfro and Dan Fouts.
